Techno-Z Mariapfarr

Since February 1999 the Lungau also has a prominent technology centre with a promising future. The Techno-Z Mariapfarr was constructed in close cooperation with the Lungau timber industry and adapted to its needs.

Own product line in timber.
Cooperation came into being through the founding of an amalgamation of more than ten timber-related and processing firms, which is concerned with the development of its own line of products. Due to mutual procurement and mutual sales, series production has in the meantime been made possible.

Electronic know-how.
In addition to the college of timber technology (Holztechnikum) as a central technology transfer facility, the introduction into the area of an electronic outsourcing competence centre was realised with the firm of Chip & Byte.

The location

Geographical location
The core landscape of the Lungau forms a central basin, which through the 1,578m-high Mitterberg is divided into two valleys. The community of Mariapfarr is in the heart this inner-alpine basin.

Among the most valuable biological recreational factors are mountains, forests, water and pure air. Due to the scientifically proved healing effect of the climate, the Lungau is extremely popular among visitors in summer and in winter as a holiday and recuperation centre.
